Accessibility statement
This site should be usable by everyone — with a keyboard, with a screen reader, with enlarged text, with reduced motion. What follows is what we have put in place, and where it still falls short.
Status
What is in place
Tested and implemented as at 25 July 2026. The benchmark is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA.
Operation
- Fully operable by keyboard. Every link, button, form field and expandable section can be reached without a mouse.
- Visible focus. The element currently in focus is clearly outlined — on coloured backgrounds as well.
- Skip link. The first stop when tabbing leads straight to the content and skips the menu.
- Menu without a mouse. On small screens the menu opens from a button whose state is read out.
Presentation
- Contrast calculated, not estimated. Every text-and-background pair reaches at least 4.5:1; large text at least 3:1.
- Light and dark. The site follows the setting on your device; you can also set it yourself in the header. Both versions are calculated for contrast.
- Scales up. The site stays operable at 200 % zoom without content being lost and without sideways scrolling.
- Less motion. Anyone whose system asks for reduced motion gets no fade-in effects.
Structure and language
- Headings form one continuous outline; no level is skipped.
- The header, main and footer areas and every navigation are marked up as such and named.
- The page language is declared with
lang="en". - Images carry a description; purely decorative images are marked as decorative.
Forms
- Every field has a visible label that stays attached to it — no label that disappears as you type.
- Required fields are marked, and not by colour alone.
- Error messages are written in words, are announced, and receive the focus.
- The CO₂ calculator reports its result as soon as an entry changes.
Open
Where it still falls short
We know about these points. They are listed here because an open list is worth more than a smooth claim.
- The business customer shop is built on the same principles, but it has been tested less thoroughly than the public pages.
- Generated cover images in the knowledge base articles carry a generic description (“Cover image for the article”) instead of one that describes what is shown. That is permissible for decorative images, though a precise description would be better.
- Tables with many columns — in the stock API description, for example — have to be scrolled sideways on narrow screens.
- PDF documents that we send on request have not been checked for accessibility. If you need the content in another form, tell us.

Legal framework
What we are required to do
The German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz) has required providers of certain services in electronic commerce to be accessible since 28 June 2025. Our offering is addressed exclusively to businesses and not to consumers; whether that duty applies to us, and how far, is a legal question we do not answer here.
For us it changes nothing about the substance: a site you cannot operate is a bad site. So we build it that way, whoever does or does not oblige us to.
This statement was drawn up on 25 July 2026 and is based on a self-assessment.
