Services
Everything that happens between purchase and sale
Purchase and remarketing are the two ends. In between sit the services that make the difference — and you can book any of them on its own, without selling us a single device.
Data erasure
Provably empty, not just formatted
A decommissioned device is a data carrier. Your company stays responsible until the erasure is documented — not until the device has been collected.
- Certified software. We erase with tools that are established in the trade, among them Blancco and NSYS — not with a quick format.
- An erasure record per device. Every device gets its own record with identifier, method and time. No single certificate covering a whole pallet.
- What cannot be erased is destroyed. Faulty carriers are physically rendered unusable and the step is documented.
- Jobs stay separate. Devices belonging to one job stay together until that job is finished.
Erasure with a record
The standard case for everything we buy. At no extra charge, because it is not an add-on but a precondition.
Erasure as a service on its own
You keep the devices but need the evidence. We erase and document, the hardware goes back to you.
Device as a Service
Rent the devices instead of tying up capital
DaaS is not a financing trick but a different way of running a device estate: a fixed monthly cost, planned replacement, and no residual value question at the end.
- Terms from 12 to 48 months. Short terms for projects, long ones for standard workplaces.
- Refurbished or new devices. With refurbished devices the monthly rate drops considerably — for most workplaces the performance is the same.
- Exchange if a device breaks. A replacement device instead of a repair queue.
- At the end of the term. Extend, exchange or return. A return includes erasure and the record.
- Scalable. When the team grows, devices are added — without a fresh procurement round.
When DaaS fits — and when it does not
It fits if you run many similar workplaces, want to plan the replacement cycle and would rather not handle maintenance yourself.
It fits less well if you need very specialised hardware, keep devices for a very long time, or already have your own IT team with a stock of spare parts. Buying is usually cheaper then — and we will say so.
Mobile device management
Manage the devices without touching each one
Anyone running more than twenty mobile devices loses the overview without central management — and loses control of the data when a device goes missing.
Stocktake
Which devices, which operating systems, which accounts — usually the first honest list in years.
Enrolment
Devices are taken into management, on Apple and Android through the manufacturer programmes.
Configuration
Profiles, Wi-Fi, mail, shares, password rules — defined once, the same everywhere.
Rollout
New devices reach the employee pre-configured and can be used straight away.
Operation
Updates, later installs, locking and remote wipe if a device is lost.
Offboarding
Device management releases the device in an orderly way — the precondition for it still being worth something later.
Reporting
Records you can put in front of someone
Job report
What was taken over, what was reused, what was recycled — per device, with its identifier. The basis for everything that follows.
Erasure records
One record per device, bundled by job, in a form that will still be readable in two years.
CO₂ figures
Avoided emissions using the method laid open in the CO₂ calculator — the same factors, only with your real quantities.
Questions
Frequently asked about the services
Do we have to book everything together?
No. Some customers use nothing but the data erasure and keep their devices. Others hand over the entire lifecycle. Both are common.
How secure is the erasure technically?
We use software that is established and certified in the trade, and we record the method applied for each device. Where a carrier can no longer be addressed at all, physical destruction is the only reliable route — then that is what we do, and we document it.
With DaaS, do we get refurbished or new devices?
Either is possible. Refurbished devices bring the rate down considerably. We will tell you which workplaces that holds up for and where new devices make more sense.
Will you take over an MDM we already have?
As a rule, yes. We look at what is set up and take over running it — changing systems is rarely necessary and usually costs more than it returns.
Who do we talk to?
Us directly: info@smd-tech.de or +49 176 6486 0639. There is no ticket loop here with a different contact each time.
Which service do you need?
Describe the case — we will tell you what makes sense and what you can spare yourself.
